Bigfoot and Beauty! Hiking in Eureka Springs, AR

I love a park, no matter what city I’m in and Lake Leatherwood City Park in Eureka Springs, AR is no exception!

Lake Leatherwood State Park is located right off Highway 62 in Eureka Springs, AR (just north of the exit for the Thorncrown Chapel). This areas of the Ozarks offer access to hiking and natural beauty right near tons of “in town” adventures. It’s an easy stop during any Eureka Springs visit and includes over 25 miles of hiking trails and beautiful views.

Some of the most popular hiking trails include the Lake Leatherwood Trail a 3.6 mile loop that incorporates parts of both the Beacham Trail and Fuller Trail, as well as the Minors Rock Trail a loop path just under two miles.

The Black Bass Lake Trail also provides lake views and natural springs in a loop just under two miles.

The park also includes a three mountain biking trails as part of the Lake Leatherwood Gravity Project.

Bigfoot can be found right off the CO Road 204 as you enter the park. On my first trip into the park I passed the suggested turn in for parking and took CO Road 204 into the park catching sight of Bigfoot to the right as you enter. However, you can also happen upon him as you hike through the trails.
