Dropps Laundry Soap Review! Plastic Free!!

Plastic has found it’s way into all aspects of life… Cleaning products, packaging and all sorts of other products. To be honest, I’m not sure I could completely remove plastic from my life. But fortunately cutting back on plastic waste isn’t “all or nothing.” Any reduction in plastic usage is a win!

We made the switch to Dropps Laundry Detergent Pods and love them! Dropps provides a green cleaning options that works! I’ve tried green cleaning supplies that have great natural ingredients and pleasant fragrance, but just don’t work. If it doesn’t help clean, being green isn’t super helpful. BUT! Not the case with Dropps.

We’ve used them for over a year now and am so happy to have an affordable, effective and sustainable option. Using Dropps provides a wonderful option for eco-friendly cleaning, but sacrifices nothing at all!.

Plastic Free Packaging & Sustainable Ingredients

Dropps are delivered in compostable cardboard (plastic-free) boxes, using carbon neutral shipping. In the year or so that we’ve used Dropps, we’ve only had one issue with shipping and it was on the side of our post office. Dropps shipped our order on schedule and with tracking, but it never made it out of our local post office and to our door. I contacted Dropps Customer Service and they were super helpful and accessible. They immediately reshipped our order and it made it promptly on time.

Dropps are made with plant based ingredients and unlike other pod products, don’t contain micro-plastics (which can get into the water supplya0. The membrane of Dropps Laundry Pods are made of polyvinyl alcohol and are water soluble so they dissolve in your washing machine (according to their website).

But do they work??

Dropps work just as well as traditional laundry soap and leave are clothes fresh, clean and soft. We do a lot of outdoor activities and Dropps effectively get out stains and smells. We use the Sensitive Skin Laundry Detergent Pod in Fresh Scent. The overall level of fragrance is less than a traditional laundry detergent, but to me this is another big positive. Clothes come out smelling clean, not like a particular fragrance. I’ve really enjoyed the more subtle clean smell. Dropps also offer scent boosters, but I’ve been really happy with the clean light smell and haven’t tried the scent boosters. From time to time, I do add a couple of drops of essential oil to my dryer balls for a pop of fragrance.

Cost

Dropps Detergent Pods can be delivered in 64, 160 and 240 load boxes. We get the 160 pod box using a subscription plan for $32 coming out to 20 cents a load. This is price is really competitive with common brands. I also find that with the pre-packaged pods I avoid over using detergent as I do with the big plastic jugs.

Overall

Dropps provide a rare and wonderful mix of effectiveness and sustainability without added cost, whoo hoo!!

Often, it seems like anything eco-friendly comes with an added cost. That leaves us deciding if we are able to pay more to take better care of the planet. But with Dropps, offer a sustainable solution that is absolutely worth a try!
